Try to monitor lock/unlock commands with VCDS in graphic mode. You need to find from what circuit the locking command is coming from. I don't have Amarok WD in front of me now, but I think there are some possibilities: inside lock/unlock switch, door lock cylinders for mechanical locking/unlocking from outside.

As we mentioned above, the system is electrically powered, so if a fuse ends up needing to be replaced the system can fail to operate. There are also solenoids that could have failed which will prevent doors from locking or unlocking, and these will need replacing.
